iTelehealth
is proud to be involved in the formation and foundation of the International
Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH) Telenursing Working
Group. The Working Group began with volunteers who identified a need
for nurses globally to learn about the role and development of the
nurse in the use of healthcare technologies for providing patient
care at a distance. The ISfTeH Board of Directors was approached and
provided approval for forming a Telenursing Working Group within the
ISfTeH. The ISfTeH provided support, dissemination, free membership
until December 2009 and the opportunity to hold the First Annual International
Telenursing Workshop in Ottawa, Canada at the CST Annual Conference,
Fall 2008.
The working group is aimed at advancing telenursing practice internationally
by involving nurses in telehealth applications. The international
telenursing network has been formed with the aims of increasing adoption
of telehealth, sharing knowledge, and increasing collaboration and
education among telenurses internationally.
